As a young and professional MMA tournament in China, RUFF has been constantly evolving and updating itself while making its own contributions to Chinese MMA through practical actions, among which, opening up to fighters outside of China at 70 kg and 93 kg is quite a good example. According to Chinese policies, MMA fighters are allowed to fight abroad for skill improvement. To this end, RUFF thinks it’s the right timing now to introduce some excellent foreign fighters onto Chinese MMA stage to help enhance Chinese fighters’ ability. That’s why we’ll see Mongolian and Russian guys at 70 kg and 93 kg divisions in RUFF 10. “RUFF may open up more divisions by the end of this year,” said Joel Resnick, RUFF CEO.

Few Chinese fighters could be seen at 70 kg division in the previous season. If without veteran Wu Haotian, it was almost dominated by two foreign fighters Rodrigo Caporal and Arthit Hanchana. The same problem happened to 93 kg where experienced fighters (e.g. Zhao Zilong) were in much too advantageous positions. Although RUFF has been searching for newcomers in the country, it still turns out to be a temporary shortage of Chinese candidates who have the ability to fight in the cage. That’s why RUFF has set its eyes on China’s neighbors, Mongolia and Russia.

Mongolia is a piece of fertile land fostering fighting talents. This brave and battle-wise nation has always been breeding eye-popping fighters. Its closest neighboring area in China, Inner Mongolia, has also cultivated numerous renowned players that the nation could be proud of. Some of them are currently active in the RUFF cage, like Amu, Li Jixiang, Wu Haotian, etc. No matter from the technical or physical point of view, Mongolian fighters are the best for the cage. Ganbayar Tumurkhuyag, a disciple of world’s legendary fighting champion Jadamba Narantungalag, will enter RUFF 93 kg division to fight against Li Jixiang. This young boxing expert, who once won the bronze medal in the 2012 Mongolian Boxing Championship, will choose China to finish his transition to MMA.

Amartuvshin Khuukkenkhuu, the other one going to challenge Wu Haotian, is a judo and Mongolian wrestling expert. Different from other fighters, he also adds rugby practice into his daily training, which well shows his excellent agility and explosiveness.

Russian fighter Rasul Khairulaev, the winner of 2013 Russian Fighting Championship, is a great wrestler with strong power. Can this wrestling expert neutralize Caporal’s powerful jujitsu? The 70 kg dominator Rodrigo Caporal managed to maintain an undefeated record by excellent ground skills and indefensible forces. Then this Russian wrestler boasting both power and skills is bound to emerge as a strong competitor to stir up more sophisticated and exciting fights against Wu Haotian and other Chinese fighters in the division.

RUFF expects Chinese fighters to continuously improve their skills by fighting against these excellent opponents from neighboring countries, and also hopes to attract more young people to make up the vacancy of these divisions, so as to achieve a sound cycle of fresh fighters sustainability.

Finally, wish these three foreign fellows all the best in the Chinese cage!
