The misinformation being spread about youth MMA in the form of FILA Pankration is hard for those of us that understand the sport to believe. The sport was finally accurately represented in an article on BJ Penn's website.

FILA Pankration is a great sport for kids. There are no strikes allowed above the collarbone and it is illegal to execute any technique that is intended, or could be reasonably expected, to injure your opponent. Damage based scoring criteria does not exist, rather points are scored by executing legal striking and grappling techniques.
The attached video is a good example of a match. You will note that the match starts and ends amicably. Both kids are controlled and composed throughout the match, no display of anger, wild techniques or lack of sportsmanship. The sport is about executing martial arts techniques and scoring points, not about injuring your opponent.
