(In America)
Just discussing it at the bar tonight, and it seems like a failed concept as far as capitalism is concerned. Letting companies do whatever they want to maximize profits, even when it's hurting the economy.
If a company is going to make a massive profit and has done so for years, why not make it illegal for them to outsource workers? Say, especially for companies who show record profits year after year?
Wouldn't eliminating outsourcing and forcing those companies to hire American workers provide a substantial boost to the economy? Even at the lowest-end positions?
Especially if the big companies are regarded are job-creators, shouldn't they be creating jobs for Americans?
When you outsource a job, the person in the country you outsourced it to, is paying taxes to whatever country they live in. In America, individuals pay a huge income tax. Where does this go when you outsource a job???? Also, the middle-class and lower middle class buy a LOT of goods and services... Wouldn't this help ensure their spending is done domestically? Again, contributing to the economy?

What are the pros of Outsourcing? Not for the company for but for the economy of the US in general?
