I'm a man. I love meat. I love Jerky as well. As such, i decided I would try my hand at making jerky. Problem is, I don't have a dehydrator. So I decided to use the oven method and propping my over door open just slightly. I'll post pics and hopefully the jerky I made comes out somewhat edible. lol
For my Marinade I used the following. I wanted to keep it relatively simple:
1 Jar of Moore's Original Hickory Marinade
1 cup of Soy Sauce
1/2 tbsp of Onion Powder
1/2 tbsp of Chilli Powder
1/2 tbsp of Paprika
1/2 tbsp of Salt
1/2 tbsp of Pepper
1 tsp of minced garlic
For the meat, I used 4.5 lbs of boneless bottom round. I cut all the fat from it and then proceeded to attempt to cut it to about 1/4-1/2 in thick slices. Once they were all cut I let the pieces marinade overnight in my marinade.
Woke up this morning and then proceeded to prep my oven. I also took all the pieces out and patted them as dry as I could get them. Placed all the pieces on skewers and placed them on the top rack of my oven. I just started the dehydrating process. Here are some pics. Will post more pics at about the 3 hour mark and when they are finally done. Some pieces may be bigger than others. Hope it doesn't fuck things up.
