So apparently this crossfit stud was doing a "powerlift" and severed his spine!!! I have never done crossfit, but I have benched\squat\deadlifted for many many years and I didn't even know this was possible. In both the CNN video and the article they don't specify which exercise the poor young man was doing when his spine severed... they just say a "powerlift" which to me means squat\dead\bench, but I am wondering if they meant one of the Olympic lifts. Can anybody shed some light on this question? Which lift exactly was he doing when his spine severed? Its such a tragedy but it makes me nervous because I use my years of lifting knowledge to help younger guys put on size and I don't want this to happen to anybody else etc so I am hoping to learn from it.
