For the first month of the new year I wanted to share one of my favorite waiter half guard set-ups. If you're not sure what the waiter half guard is, it's a really strong deep half guard variation.
In this video I show a scramble set up from the waiter half guard where I'm able to take my opponent's back with the rolling back take, which is not only very effective but also looks cool as well.
Also I quickly talk about how you can hit a calf slicer from this sequence too.
If you're a half guard player, this technique may be a good addition.
BUT even if you aren't, it's always good to know what someone can do to you from this position.
