is it too late to put Gus vs Glover in UFC 163? or FOX sports with kamp vs condit?
I think theyre both:
-top contenders
-good win streaks
-haven't fought jones yet
if one of them decisively beats the other, people will actually be hyped to see them fight jones in say dec (or jan maybe?). I know serious MMA fans know who they are and would like to see them fight jones but they just got good recognition started and now ALOT of people are looking at them. I like Gus and think hes doing a good job hyping but he hasn't fought in forever and I think a win over Glover, people wouldn't just be interested, theyd really be calling for it. like wise with Glover.
just a breakdown of the LHW division right now:
Machida vs davis (aug) - I doubt winner gets shot even though Machida was promised or something. unless davis dominates Machida and calls out jones he doesn't have a shot right now.
hendo vs rashad (june) - hendo just lost to Machida (close fight though) and beating rashad right now might not do it for him. rashad is more fighting for spot then a shot right now
chael vs shogun (aug) - chael is out of shot. shogun beating chael puts him back on track after losing to Gus. but hes not in the picture right now.
Gus - hasn't fought since dec. beat shogun by decision (someone jon dominated sadly) but hes got a win streak going and people other then the serious MMA fans are recognizing him now. hes doing the right thing getting active on twitter etc imo. (loved the stare off pic!)
Glover- kinda samething. just fought in May though. serious MMA fans knew him but he didn't have a lot of recognition I feel until he fought the popular rampage. great fight against Huna (finished)

nog - on win streak but not in shot right now
DC - not sure what his intentions are.. staying at HW?
Anderson - fighting Weidman in july. he usually fights twice a year so hed prob be down for late this year if he beats chris. (if hes interested)
