I recently turned 21 and I am set to get my CC later this week. I have been shooting guns my whole life, but am new to the experience of carrying one. Since i'm not so much looking for everyday carry but instead companionship on my outdoor ventures, I bought a Ruger SP101 with a 2.25 inch barrel for my carry gun. I chose this because I love the way it shoots, and I am an avid outdoors man. This seems like a great backpacking gun with little maintenance. I have heard nothing but great things about it and I'm enjoying it so far.
My question is this. I live in Florida, its hot as hell all the time. If I do carry this on fishing trips etc, what is some routine maintenance I can do to avoid rust and other wear.
