This is not a thread for bashing this well-rounded athlete, but rather to lament on how he seems to be the agent of his own destruction. Before coming to the big leagues in the U.S., he was undefeated with 11 straight KOs and submissions, having never gone to the judges in his career. Since coming over to WEC, and then UFC (and now Bellator), he's had 12 decisions and one KO loss.
I understand that quality of opponents may have a lot to do with ability to finish a fight, but in his case, he very often seems to be content to pick his shots, and wait for an opportunity that never comes. When he does strike (or wrestle), he shows himself to be very capable in all areas of the sport, with flashes of brilliance (like the flying knee that he countered his last Bellator opponent with).
It's just a shame that those moments serve not to define him as a fighter, but to taunt the fans with a vision of all that could have been.
