Does this mean they're planning on scaling back the number of events?

Why is nobody talking about Dana saying this? He said it in regard to the Jake Shields cut. This is a big deal. This means Dana is listening to fans and taking my advice about the roster being just too damn big.

"You're right Captain."
I've said it for awhile now, 500 fighters is too many for anybody to keep track of. Trim the fat, cut around half the current roster, have less shows but stack the cards a LOT better, and you can also pay the fighters that you keep, more money. It's a win-win for everybody EXCEPT the boring, safe fighters.
This also sends out a lot of excess fighters into the mma system, and will give other promotions a chance to build up on better known fighters.
