Let me start of with a little disclaimer here guys because to be perfectly honest with you, guys, I find Chael's WWF inspired one liners quite funny myself, but this is the hurt game ladies and gents and sometimes there's a thin line between hyping up a fight and consequences that are, indeed, as real as they get. And this brings me to the topic I want to talk about today.
You see, guys, ever since Chael Sonnen went on a Twitter rampage against fellow TUF coach, Wanderlei Silva, a lot fans have been been riding Chael's coattails, being all cool about how "entertaining" Chael's shit talk is and how he's a master at playing the bad guy. Well I'm known to take a deep, strategic look at things that sometimes hit people from a different angle and make no mistake about it, because I knew all along that something was up. Something in the way Chael was talking about the matter told me he knows something more, man, and more importantly something in his tone was telling me that he was a little shaken, perhaps a little bit rattled by the events we knew nothing about.
All of this brings me to the infamous brawl my friends. Make no mistake about it here, guys, because what Chael has done is, he's awaken the Wanderlei of old. The berserker. I'm talking about the live by the sword, die by the sword Axe Murderer here and I'm sure many of you would agree that while Chael has got Silva agitated, Sonnen was rattled by Wanderlei's aggression during that very episode which caused him to initiate the fight. Now this is a double edged sword for my man Chael, because while he took Wanderlei down and hurt him, he was also visibly shaken by the straight forward, no BS, no promotional hype Wanderlei.
Now I'm not going to make any fight predictions, everyone knows I rarely make any predictions, but I will say that what happened in that episode is very telling of Sonnen's mindset and I wouldn't be surprised if he's gonna up the ante before the fight, but look for a way out like he did against Anderson and Rashad, if Wanderlei takes Sonnen into the deep waters inside that Octagon. Peace.
