I have been doing Jiu Jitsu now for about 6 months. I had no grappling experience at the out start so of course I was lost and got the shit choked out of me repeatedly for a few weeks. Then I started to "get it" (a little, of course) and I have been getting submitted less and less to the point where today, I am considered one of the tougher guys to submit our the group. But...
When it comes to offense, I am still LOST. I have to think WAY too much and by the time I I figure out which side of the hip to push off of or which arm to (matar, don´t know how to say this in English but when you "demobilize a limb we say matar=kill") the guy knows what I want to do and is already defending. I have VERY few legitimate submissions, all of them being chokes almost always from back mounted.
I was simply wondering if this sounds like a normal progression. Will the offense come with more experience. I think I know the answer but I just wanted to see other's experience in this journey.
Thanks in advance, abraços!
