You dont stop LNP by firing blankets and promoting mattresses

Id rather watch a blanket than a mattress.

If two people have a fight in a field and one of them gets on top of the other one and beats on him for 15 minutes, he basically won the fight.

If two people have a fight in a field and one of them gets on top of the other one and restrains him for 15 minutes, he hasnt really won much, but he hasnt exactly lost either and he sure as sh-- won more than the guy getting dry r---d.

When you put this into an octagon, prize fight or not, the same rules have merit.

LNPers arent beating the other guy to bits, or subbing him, but they are kind of demonstrating superior positional dominance and are kind of winning, or at the very least not losing.

All sports have gamesmanship and stalemate.

The bottom line is this- if you take a pool of 100 fighters and filter out the guys who are showing the ability to dominate, but not finish, then you are ignoring the levels of competition, the legitimacy of different fight styles, the prevalence of gamesmanship and stalemate in all sports, and the excellence it takes to neutralise and dominate some of the best fighters in the world.

Not many people like watching LNP. Not many people give love to guys associated with LNP style, rightly or wrongly, while they are in the UFC.

However... everybody respects on some level their legitimacy and credibility at what they do.

Whether you like these guys or hate them, one thing is surely a lot worse than your favourite LNP fighter... and that is the human f-- mattresses they lay on.

Promoting human duvets is not the answer to the commercial irritant of LNP fighting and fighters.

On one level the sport of MMA in all its facets should be promoted, as submissions take time, and GNP takes time, and these are important elements of the game. Simply promoting BANGS for retards destroys the competitive and combat elements of the sport.

Secondly- if restraining someone and fighting only for positional dominance is to be attacked, then the best way to do that is through incentivizing finishes and prizing this method and achivement over dominant decisions. Ie decisions should be considered draw victories or points wins. Points wins should be recorded as a different category to finishes.

Simply firing guys, telling them how to fight and swerving the sport into areas of competitive insanity is bullshit, and only takes the brand into the areas of performance over fighting, and reduces the competition not into scripted fights, but into improvisational comedy posing as a fair game. What you are creating is a show, in place of a fight.

MMA is better than that. UFC is better than that, and Dana White/Zuffa/Fertitta family, for all their faults have invested a lot in the sport and are better than that too.

Promoting human mattresses is not the way forward.
