I've been using fight pass for a few months now, and today I canceled my account. I don't have a problem with what's available; I like the fight library and the free live fights, but there are a lot of problems with how the system works that I find very frustrating. Below are some of my complaints.
1.) Streaming quality: I have a very fast internet connection, and can download megabytes a second when using uTorrent. My other streaming sites, such as Netflix, work flawlessly. Yet even in a low traffic period, like this afternoon, I can't stream old Pride fights on the Fight Library without substantial chop. That's ridiculous, particularly given that I pay more for Fight Pass than I do for netflix. The UFC has not put enough resources in at their end, because my provider, and other websites, all work fine.
2.) The interface: It's very annoying to use. Let's say I come back after the fights for a Fight Pass event are over and I want to watch the fights. Often times the "skip to the next fight" button simply doesn't work, meaning I have to scroll through each fight to get to the ones I want. Sometimes the scroll bar at the bottom won't come up unless I make my screen ration insanely large or small, and sometimes when you try to pick the fights from the list provided, it says they are "upcoming" even though the fights happened more than a day ago. The programming is super buggy and there's a bunch of features that seem to have been added but are never functional, like switching to different camera angles. It feels very half-baked.
Maybe one day this will be a viable concept, but for now I feel like the UFC is delivering a sub-standard product for an amount of money that isn't justified.
