The UFC might have gone overboard with eliminating all competitive organisations. I can agree that taking away Pride gave UFC the advantage of being the undisputed no.1 mma org, but Strikeforce really just boosted the UFC imo.
Right now the UFC roster is so large that boring events (on paper) with mainly no-names are inevitable. Also, boring cards blemish the image of UFC as a whole. That would not be the case if only once per month stacked cards were called UFC.
Let all the no-names fight for Strikeforce (basically like it was), build them up there (like they did), and let the best fighters advance to the UFC roster.
Also, you can have twice the amount of Champions (Strikeforce and UFC). That is a great way to build up names. Now they use fighters for free events that could make the PPV more stacked. A champion would resolve that issue. Even if he is a no-name. A championship title is maybe the best way to make a name for a fighter. Even if it is the inferior Strikeforce title.
Nowadays, for the casual fan UFC = MMA. That is not good. Let there be an (well known) inferior org so the UFC stands for only the best of the best. This gives the UFC more status and more magic.
It's just like a title fight: it has more rounds, it has longer intro's, it has Bruce Buffer going all out etc. Ik makes the fights more special than other fights. Why not use the same method for UFC as a whole?
I think most of us would be content with one big UFC event every month. You could have 2 title fights every event, a STACKED card AND undercard. Not only that, fighters who fail in the UFC can make their comeback via Strikeforce and not via other orgs. That would also make the life of fighters more secure.
As always, English is not my native language, so sorry for any errors.
