So I was thinking earlier today that since most of us seem to agree the UFC is having too many events and losing quality at times I was wondering what you guys thought about my rules for PPV and non PPV
PPV Cards every 2-3 months
2-3 non PPV cards per month
Only 2 non PPV cards in a PPV card month
All PPV must have at least 1 titlefight or 2 title elimnations or near title eliminations
On main card PPV only 1 fight with lesser known fighters
Not proposing these as actual cards but as ideas for the type/rank of fighters on cards
UFC PPV type 1
2 Title fights
2 fights with top 15~fighters looking to get in title picture
1 lesser known
UFC PPV type 1 Example 2
UFC PPV Type 2
2-3 Title elimination or near elimination fights
1-2 fights with top 15~fighters looking to get in title picture
1 lesser known
UFC PPV Type 2 Example 2
UFC PPV Type 3
1 Title fight
1-2 Title elimination or near elimination fights
1-2 fights with top 15~fighters looking to get in title picture
1 lesser knowns
Non PPV cards
Type 1
1-2 Eliminator or near eliminator fights
1-2 fights with top 15~fighters looking to get in title picture
2 lesser knowns
Type 2
1 Lesser title
1 Popular fight or near eliminator fight
1 fights with top 15~fighters looking to get in title picture
2 lesser knowns
Sadly I don't know enough about the lower end of the roster so I cant give good examples of up and comers the UFC likes.
Also this way undercards and fight pass etc etc could be dedicated to like 1 or 2 top 20 fighters and a bunch of lowe end guys the UFC wants to see if are any good.
This would mean 6-7 PPV per year
I think this would give the UFC time to properly promote and gin up excitement about PPVs as well as give them enough cards to showcase the lower end fighters and raise awareness about the future of the organization.
Do you guys think that this could work at all? or still to watered down? or not enough fighters to do this? Or too many fighters to have that few cards?
