how to use hook and loop converters?

I recently revived the single hook and loop converters from ring to cage.

I don't really understand how to put them on, and when I looked at the ringside and title site there weren't many answers. Also I did the search and couldn't follow clamps method.

The way I have them attached now is on the side of the glove opposite the thumb, so when I wrap it around it opens the glove up before looping around.

What am I doing wrong?
