I'm a big shogun fan, but I have to say that i've been pretty dissapointed at times,
he's come in out of shape allot lately, I remember his former manager Alonso saying that the training camp before the Jones fight was his worst one ever in the big leagues, Shogun was unwilling to train his ass off or get the proper training partners in, or move to a decent camp for a title fight as champ... Werdum has also says he isn't motivated anymore, doesn't train hard, since all this, i'm still a big fan, but its dwindled a bit, its harder to really get as exited about his fights..
Also Forrest Griffin, he's always come in shape, but since the Anderson Silva fight it seemed that he'd lost his passion for fighting, evolving or chasing the belt. His gritty attitude in the ring was what won me over as a fan, but the same thing, my passion as a fan dwindled when he stop putting the same kind of effort into his performances in...
Also Fedor, I honestly think he had so much more potential as a fighter towards the end of his career, his trainer also said that he wasn't training hard, he could have achieved s much more if he had the passion for fighting... he looked in great shape for his last fight, I think he could have been a HW challenger in the UFC if he trained hard and continued to evolve..
I accept that fighters are people, and this kind of thing happens, but just sayin..
have you guys got any examples?
