Will I get my instructor into trouble if I don't wear the GB gi?

Hi guys,
Sorry about the influx of noob questions but I don't know what to do here. My instructor teaches at 2-3 schools and I currently train out of one which isn't affiliated with GB that heavily. I mean, we still follow the GB curriculum and etiquette but it isn't strictly enforced and my school isn't registered as officially GB. We don't use attendance cards or anything like that either- if we did, I would have two stripes more by now :icon_chee

Anyways, long story short- my instructor told us we should come over to his other schools to train if we want to mix our sparring up (right now, we only have a class size of 15-20 and its pretty stable as to who shows up). It was a really nice offer and I was definitely going to pick up on it until I realize it was an "official" GB school. Now, I have personally seen other GB schools "punish" people with push ups and whatnot for forgetting to wear their brand of gi. I have also seen threads on here, as well as on their website, which says you must show up in their uniform.

Will I get my instructor into trouble if I go but show up in a regular clean gi? Its 3 hours extra practice for me every week which is really good and, to be honest, I would definitely buy a GB gi and rashguard in a heartbeat to support BJJ if the price was justified but its not. The price is ridiculous, I mean- together, they will cost me over $200 if I include shipping (http://www.gbshopoceania.com/)*.

Thanks.

*And that is if I buy their cheapest/suckiest model. Their competition gi down here cost like $250 alone.
