I am not sure why JDS didn't just take Hunt down and pound him out.
By being the bigger man, and clearly having a better ground game than Hunto, Junior could have probably had finished Hunt in the 1st or 2nd rnd. But I guess he had something to prove and the fight ended spectacularly anyhow. Regardless, I'm not sure why JDS doesn't utilize his grappling more often...
Perhaps he relies on the fact that he is the most feared striker in the HW division...which is agreeable...
I just believe that JDS has GOT to be confident in his ground game to stifle Cain.He WILL get taken down by Cain in their next fight...at least that's what the statistics tell us...the sprawl will only help you so many times before you're stuck on your back.
And yeah yea, we know he is a BJJ Black belt - but he's basically a HW version of Wanderlei. Not in ALL respects, obviously, but insofar as Wanderlei's reputation for striking over grappling, despite being a skilled groundsmith.
Anywho - what do you think? Should JDS just stick to what he's known for...it seems to being doing him just fine so far...
OR - would you like to see what JDS can do on the ground, specifically if it's for a particular advantage (IE against an opponent like Hunt)
