Does the UFC give false hope to low level fighters?

Bubba McDaniels was just cut by the UFC. IMO a guy like him should never have been brought in by the UFC. I understand giving young talent a shot because the hope is they will improve. But a guy like Bubba in his 30's isn't going get much better. If a guy washes out of MMA in his early to mid twenties he can more easily go out and start a new career. A guy in his mid 30s is going to have a tougher time. I understand it was Bubba's choice and he got some fame from the UFC. Its just sad when you see a guy who has tried for a long time to make it in mma get a shot but really in the end it was just for a TV show and not based on Bubba having a realistic shot at being successful in the UFC. Guys in circumstances like Bubba would be better off retiring from mma earlier and trying to start a career that can provide long term income.

My point is the UFC is giving guys opportunities not because they need more fighters but because they need to fill slots on reality shows.
